How we tint: one shade, all the way around
Most trucks and SUVs leave the factory with dark privacy glass in back and nearly clear glass up front. That mismatch is the first thing people notice. We match one consistent shade across the front doors, rear doors and back glass so the vehicle looks finished, not patched.
In Idaho that shade is usually 35% — the darkest film the law allows on the front side windows and the rear window. The windshield doesn't get a dark shade at all; the most it can legally get is a strip across the top, above the AS-1 line.
Pick your film
Every film we install blocks 99% or more of UV. Where they differ is heat — and that's the number that matters on a truck parked in an August parking lot on Yellowstone Avenue.
| Film | Heat rejected (TSER) | Infrared rejected | UV |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carbon | 35–50% | 40–60% | 99%+ |
| Ceramic | 45–58% | 70–85% | 99%+ |
| IR Ceramic | 55–70% | 90–97% | 99.9% |
- Carbon — matte charcoal look that never turns purple. Solid everyday value.
- Ceramic — a big heat cut without going darker. It's our most-requested film and the one we steer most people toward.
- IR Ceramic — top-tier infrared rejection. Get this one if your vehicle lives outside in the sun.
Ranges vary with shade. Ask us and we'll give you both numbers — TSER and IR — at the exact shade you're choosing, not whichever one sounds biggest.

Old tint removal
Purple, bubbling or peeling film comes off, the old adhesive gets cleaned off the glass completely, and then we tint fresh. Back glass takes the longest because we work around the defroster lines.
| Removal | Price |
|---|---|
| One door window | $25 |
| Pickup back glass | $40 |
| Car back glass | $75 |
| Full car | $150 |
| SUV / wagon / minivan | $199 |
| Full-size van | $249 |
What's legal in Idaho
Idaho Code 49-944 sets the limits, and it makes it unlawful to install film outside them — not just to drive with it. So we won't.
- Front side windows and rear window: 35% or lighter (±3%)
- Rear side windows: 20% or lighter (±3%)
- Windshield: nothing below the AS-1 line (or the top 6 inches if there's no AS-1 mark)
- Reflectance: 35% max on any window — no mirror films
There's a medical exemption with a physician's written note kept in the vehicle. Full breakdown, with the statute language: Idaho window tint law explained.
Classic cars, RVs and fleets
Classics and RVs are quoted per vehicle — window counts, curved or flat glass and old rubber gaskets vary too much for a flat price. Same for full-size vans and business fleets. Send the year, make and model (photos help) and we'll get you a real number.
After your appointment
- Keep the windows up for 3 to 5 days while the adhesive cures.
- Some haze or small water pockets for the first few days is normal — they clear on their own.
- Clean with a soft microfiber and an ammonia-free cleaner.
